For all my fashionistas out there…
Thanks to one of our patients, Erin, I was introduced to the coolest service! It’s called StichFix.com. Stitch Fix is a style service that sends you clothes every month (or whenever you chose).
The site lets me decide the amount of money I want to spend on any type of item and offers an outline to help me chose my “style”, so I don’t end up with a bunch of stuff I probably won’t care for. When it asked me how much I wanted to spend one of the options was “as low as possible”…guess which option I chose? Haha!
I think what really sold me though, was SEVERAL testimonials from women that discussed their own weird body shapes and were excited that their stylist managed to find fun clothing to fit them even though they had never met. I have a weird body type (heavy on the bottom, long waist and arms, short legs and athletically built), so it’s always hard for me to find pants that fit.
As many people know (ya’ll see me at Harris Teeter frequently), I seem to live in my black scrubs during the weekday and its pretty uninspiring. They are super functional but I feel better when I dress better. The problem is…I have NO TIME FOR SHOPPING! I buy clothes at Target while I’m picking up shampoo and diapers. There must be true for a lot of us out there, because I occasionally see other moms with kiddos in tow and for a second our eyes meet and there is knowing glance of “Yep, here we are!”.
Even if I did have time, you would probably find me at the typical GAP, Limited, etc., because it seems easy. Stitch Fix is so fun because it is exciting to get items from designers that I would never otherwise run into, but don’t have to shell out a ton of money to do it.
Just another fun example of the cool things we learn from our patients! Thanks Erin for introducing me!
